¹➊提阿非罗大人哪，➋因为有➌好些人已经着手➍作书，述说在我们中间所完全成就的➊事，Inasmuch as many have undertaken to draw up a narrative concerning the matters which have been fully accomplished among us,

²是照➊那些从起初亲眼看见，又将这➋道➌供应我们的人，➍所交付我们的；Even as those who from the beginning became eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us,

³这一切的事➊我既从起头都详确考察了，就认为也该按着次序写给你，It seemed good to me also, having carefully investigated all things from the first, to write them out for you in an orderly fashion, most excellent Theophilus,

⁴使你深知所教导你的事，都是确实的。So that you may fully know the certainty of the things concerning which you were instructed.

⁵在犹太王希律的日子，➊亚比雅班里有一位祭司，名叫撒迦利亚；他妻子是亚伦的➋后代，名叫以利沙伯。In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a certain priest named Zachariah, of the course of Abijah; and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

⁶➊他们二人在神面前都是➋义人，➌遵行主的一切诫命、➍典章，无可指摘，And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord, blameless.

⁷只是➊没有孩子，因为以利沙伯不生育，两个人又上了年纪。And they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both advanced in their days.

⁸有一天，撒迦利亚按着班次，在神面前供祭司的职分，And while he served as priest in the order of his course before God,

⁹照祭司职任的规矩中了签，得进主殿➊烧香。According to the custom of the priestly service, the lot fell to him to enter into the temple of the Lord and burn incense.

¹⁰烧香的时候，全群的百姓在外面➊祷告。And all the multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of the burning of incense.

¹¹有主的使者站在香坛的右边，向他显现。And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense.

¹²撒迦利亚看见，就惊慌害怕。And Zachariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him.

¹³天使对他说，撒迦利亚，不要害怕，因为你的祈求已蒙垂听，你的妻子以利沙伯要给你➊生一个儿子，你要给他起名叫➋约翰。But the angel said to him, Do not be afraid, Zachariah, because your petition has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.

¹⁴你必喜乐欢腾，有许多人因他出生，也必欢乐。And you will have joy and exultation, and many will rejoice at his birth.

¹⁵他在主面前将要为大，淡酒、浓酒都➊不喝，从母腹里就被➋圣灵充溢了。For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he shall by no means drink wine and liquor. And he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb,

¹⁶他要使许多以色列子孙转向主他们的神。And many of the sons of Israel he will turn to the Lord their God.

¹⁷他必➊凭以利亚的灵和能力，行在主的面前，叫父亲的心转向儿女，并叫悖逆的人➋转向义人的➌精明，为主豫备合用的百姓。And it is he who will go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the prudence of the righteous, to prepare for the Lord a people made ready.

¹⁸撒迦利亚对天使说，我凭什么可以知道这事？我已经老了，我的妻子也上了年纪。And Zachariah said to the angel, By what shall I know this? For I am an old man and my wife is advanced in years.

¹⁹天使回答说，我是站在神面前的加百列，奉差遣对你说话，将这些事的好信息报给你。And the angel answered and said to him, I am Gabriel, who stands before God, and I was sent to speak to you and to announce the good news of these things to you.

²⁰到了时候，我的话必然应验；只因你➊不信，看哪，你必哑口不能说话，直到这些事成就的日子。And behold, you shall be silent and not able to speak until the day that these things happen, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time.

²¹百姓等候撒迦利亚，当他在殿里迟延的时候，他们都希奇。And the people were waiting for Zachariah, and they marveled at his delaying in the temple.

²²等他出来，不能和他们说话，他们就知道他在殿里见了异象。他直向他们打手式，竟成了哑吧。And when he came out, he was not able to speak to them, and they realized that he had seen a vision in the temple. And he made signs to them and remained dumb.

²³他供职的日子满了，就回家去了。And when the days of his service were fulfilled, he went to his house.

²⁴这些日子以后，他的妻子以利沙伯怀了孕，就隐藏了五个月，说，And after these days Elizabeth his wife conceived and stayed in seclusion for five months, saying,

²⁵主在眷顾的日子，这样待我，要把我在人间的羞耻除掉。In this way has the Lord dealt with me in the days in which He looked upon me to take away my reproach among men.

²⁶到了第六个月，天使加百列奉神差遣，往➊加利利的一座城去，这城名叫拿撒勒。And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,

²⁷到一个童女那里，是已经许配➊大卫家的一个人，名叫约瑟，童女的名字叫马利亚。To a virgin engaged to a man named Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

²⁸天使进去，对她说，蒙大恩的女子，愿你喜乐！主与你同在了➊。And he came to her and said, Rejoice, you who have been graced! The Lord is with you.

²⁹她因这话就很惊慌，又反覆思想这样问安是什么意思。And she was greatly troubled at this saying and began reasoning what kind of greeting this might be.

³⁰天使对她说，马利亚，不要怕，你在神面前已经蒙恩了。And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found grace with God.

³¹看哪，你将怀孕生子，要给祂起名叫➊耶稣。And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus.

³²祂要为大，称为➊至高者的儿子，主神要把祂祖➋大卫的宝座给祂，He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of David His father,

³³祂要➊作雅各家的王，直到永远，祂的➋国也没有穷尽。And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.

³⁴马利亚对天使说，我没有出嫁，怎么会有这事？But Mary said to the angel, How will this be, since I have not known a man?

³⁵天使回答说，➊圣灵要临到你➋身上，至高者的能力要➌覆庇你，因此所要生的➍圣者，必称为神的儿子。And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore also the holy thing which is born will be called the Son of God.

³⁶况且你看，你的亲戚以利沙伯，就是那素来称为不生育的，在年老的时候，也怀了男胎，现在已是第六个月了。And behold, Elizabeth your relative, she also has conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who is called barren,

³⁷因为在神，没有一句话是➊不可能的。Because no word will be impossible with God.

³⁸马利亚说，看哪，我是主的婢女，情愿照你的话成就在我身上。天使就离开她去了。And Mary said, Behold, the slave of the Lord. May it happen to me according to your word. And the angel departed from her.

³⁹在那些日子，马利亚起身，急忙往山地里去，来到犹大的一座城，And Mary rose up in those days and went to the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah,

⁴⁰进了撒迦利亚的家，问以利沙伯安。And entered into the house of Zachariah and greeted Elizabeth.

⁴¹以利沙伯一听到马利亚问安，➊所怀的胎就在腹里跳动，以利沙伯且被圣灵充溢，And when Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

⁴²高声喊着说，➊你在妇女中是有福的，你腹中的➋果子也是有福的。And she lifted up her voice with a loud cry and said, Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

⁴³我➊主的母亲竟然到我这里来，这事怎么会临到我？And how has this happened to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

⁴⁴看哪，你问安的声音一入我耳，我腹里的胎就欢腾跳动。For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby leaped with exultation in my womb.

⁴⁵➊这➋相信的女子是有福的，因为➌主对她所说的事，都要完成。And blessed is she who has believed, because there will be a completion of the things spoken to her from the Lord.

⁴⁶马利亚说，➊我魂➋尊主为大，And Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord,

⁴⁷我灵曾➊以神我的救主为➋乐，And my spirit has exulted in God my Savior;

⁴⁸因祂顾念祂婢女的卑微。看哪，从今以后，万代要称我有福。Because He has looked upon the low estate of His slave. For behold, from now on all generations will count me blessed,

⁴⁹那➊有权能的为我行了大事，祂的名为圣；Because the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is His name.

⁵⁰祂的➊怜悯归与敬畏祂的人，直到世世代代。And His mercy is unto generations and generations, unto those who fear Him.

⁵¹祂用膀臂施展权能，驱散那些心里妄想的狂傲人。He has exercised might with His arm; He has scattered those who are proud in the understanding of their heart.

⁵²祂叫有权柄的失位，叫卑微的升高，He has brought down potentates from thrones and has exalted the humble;

⁵³叫饥饿的得饱美物，叫富足的空着回去。The hungry He has filled with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty.

⁵⁴祂扶助了祂的仆人以色列，He has upheld Israel His servant to remember mercy,

⁵⁵为要记念祂向亚伯拉罕和他后裔所施的怜悯，直到永远，➊正如祂对我们列祖所说的。Even as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever.

⁵⁶马利亚和以利沙伯同住约有三个月，就回家去了。And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her home.

⁵⁷以利沙伯的产期到了，就生了一个儿子。Now the time was fulfilled for Elizabeth to give birth, and she bore a son.

⁵⁸邻里亲族听见主向她大施怜悯，就和她一同欢乐。And her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had magnified His mercy with her, and they rejoiced with her.

⁵⁹到了第八日，他们来要给孩子行割礼，并有意照他父亲的名字，叫他撒迦利亚。And on the eighth day they came to circumcise the little child, and they tried to call him after the name of his father, Zachariah.

⁶⁰但他母亲说，不可，要叫他约翰。Yet his mother answered and said, No, but he shall be called John.

⁶¹他们对她说，你亲族中没有叫这名字的。And they said to her, There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name.

⁶²他们就向他父亲打手式，看他愿意叫他什么。And they gestured to his father as to what he would want him to be called.

⁶³他要了一块写字板，就写上说，他的名字是约翰。他们便都希奇。And asking for a tablet, he wrote, saying, John is his name. And they all marveled.

⁶⁴撒迦利亚的➊口立时开了，舌头也舒展了，就说出话来，颂赞神。And his mouth was opened instantly, and his tongue loosed, and he began to speak, blessing God.

⁶⁵住在周围的人都起了敬畏，这一切的➊事就传遍了全犹太山地。And fear came on all those dwelling around them, and in all the hill country of Judea all these things were spread about.

⁶⁶凡听见的人，都将这事放在心里，说，这个孩子将来会怎么样？因为主的手与他同在。And all who heard these things put them in their heart, saying, What then will this little child be? For indeed the hand of the Lord was with him.

⁶⁷他父亲撒迦利亚被圣灵充溢，就申言说，And Zachariah his father was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, saying,

⁶⁸主以色列的神是当受颂赞的，因祂眷顾祂的百姓，为他们施行➊救赎，Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because He has visited and accomplished redemption for His people,

⁶⁹在祂仆人大卫家中，为我们兴起了➊拯救的角，And raised a horn of salvation for us in the house of David His servant,

⁷⁰➊正如祂➋从时间起首，借着圣申言者的口所说的，Even as He spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets from of old —

⁷¹拯救我们脱离仇敌，和一切恨我们之人的手；Salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us,

⁷²向我们列祖施➊怜悯，➋记念祂的圣约，To accomplish mercy with our fathers and to remember His holy covenant,

⁷³就是祂对我们祖宗亚伯拉罕所起的➊誓，The oath which He swore to Abraham our father,

⁷⁴叫我们既从仇敌手中被救出来，To grant us that we, having been delivered out of the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear,

⁷⁵就可以一生一世在祂面前，坦然无惧的➊用圣和义➋事奉祂。In holiness and righteousness before Him all our days.

⁷⁶孩子阿，你要称为至高者的申言者，因为你要行在➊主的面前，➋豫备祂的道路，And you also, little child, shall be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare His ways,

⁷⁷叫祂的百姓➊因➋罪得赦，就认识救恩。To give knowledge of salvation to His people by the forgiveness of their sins,

⁷⁸因我们神怜悯的心肠，叫清晨的➊日光从高天临到我们，Because of the merciful compassions of our God, in which the rising sun will visit us from on high,

⁷⁹要照亮坐在黑暗中死荫里的人，把我们的脚引到平安的路上。To shine upon those sitting in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

⁸⁰那孩子渐渐长大，➊灵里刚强，住在旷野，直到他向以色列人显明的日子。And the little child grew and became strong in spirit, and he was in the wilderness until the day of his presentation to Israel.
